What was built

  • Added the Indigenous mod entrypoint with a custom feature that generates a fortified forest kingdom inhabited by indigenous villagers.
  • The structure spawns rarely in overworld forest biomes via the indigenous:forest_kingdom placed feature.
  • Kingdom layout: leveled courtyard with gravel paths and campfire plaza, perimeter spruce walls with a gate and corner torches, interior cabins, a storage lodge full of containers, a watchtower, market stalls, farmland, and scattered supplies.

How it works

  • A custom worldgen feature (IndigenousKingdomFeature) flattens a 21x21 area in suitable forest terrain, avoiding steep slopes and water before building the kingdom from spruce, cobblestone, and utility blocks.
  • Biome modifications target forest-tagged overworld biomes at the surface structures generation step, using a rarity filter so kingdoms are uncommon.
  • Data-driven configured/placed feature JSONs register the feature with standard heightmap, in-square, biome, and rarity placements.

Notes and limitations

  • The build clears trees within the footprint; placement skips spots that are too uneven or waterlogged.
  • Farms and decorations are simple and may vary slightly per kingdom; no custom loot is added to containers.
  • The mod runs on both client and server for Fabric 1.21.1 and leverages default assets (no extra textures or sounds).

Server validation passed - The mod was tested on a real Minecraft server and loaded successfully.
