NuWex Notes

  • Built a lightweight Fabric mod that applies an ultra-low graphics preset for low-end PCs on Minecraft 1.21.1 and exposes simple client commands.
  • On join, the client entrypoint applies the preset and saves options: graphics FAST, clouds OFF, particles MINIMAL, chunk builder NEARBY, render distance 6, simulation distance 4, mipmap levels 2, biome blend 0, entity distance scale 0.6, FPS cap 90, VSync off, and FOV/darkness effects 0.
  • Commands: /nuwex boost re-applies the preset instantly; /nuwex status reports the key values currently active; a bare /nuwex shows a short help message.
  • Changes are client-side only and overwrite existing video settings when applied; players can still adjust settings afterward, and the mod keeps logging minimal on the common side.
  • Known limits/suggestions: it only flips vanilla options (no mixins or renderer swaps), so it will not match advanced optimizers like Sodium; preset values are static—consider adding configurable profiles or a small settings screen if finer control is needed.
