Overview

Better Boats introduces three unique ship types to Minecraft 1.21.1, each offering distinct advantages for exploration, cargo transport, and multiplayer adventures. These ships feature custom designs, varied passenger capacities, and different speed characteristics.

Features

Three Ship Types

Small Sailing Boat
- Capacity: 2 passengers
- Speed: 20% faster than vanilla boats
- Best for: Early game exploration and quick travel
- Crafting: 5 oak planks + 2 sticks + 3 white wool
Medium Cargo Ship
- Capacity: 4 passengers
- Speed: Same as vanilla boats
- Best for: Carrying friends and some cargo
- Crafting: 8 oak planks + 4 sticks + 4 white wool + 2 iron ingots
Large Sailing Vessel
- Capacity: 6 passengers
- Speed: 20% slower than vanilla boats
- Best for: Large group expeditions and maximum cargo
- Crafting: 12 oak planks + 6 sticks + 6 white wool + 4 iron ingots

How to Use

Crafting: Create your desired ship type using the crafting table with the materials listed above.
Placement: Hold the ship item in your hand and right-click on water to place it.
Controls:
- Forward/Backward movement: W/S keys
- Turning: A/D keys
- Board ship: Right-click on the ship
- Exit ship: Press sneak + right-click or use the exit vehicle key
Passengers: Multiple players can ride the same ship. Simply right-click to mount. The first passenger controls steering.

Tips & Tricks

Ships drift slowly when empty, making it easy to find them again
Larger ships are more stable in rough waters but turn more slowly
Group up with friends in a large vessel for epic ocean adventures
The small boat is perfect for early-game ocean exploration

Known Limitations

Ships must be placed on water
Ships don't have their own inventory storage in this version (recipes work but storage is simplified)
Custom 3D models are represented as simple entities (visual improvements can be added in future updates)
