Custom Cursor Mod

Overview

This mod lets you replace Minecraft's default mouse cursor with any custom image you want. Whether it's a cool sword, a cute heart, or your own animated creation, you can personalize your cursor to match your style!

Features

  • Easy Setup: Just drop PNG or GIF files into the cursors folder
  • Animated Support: GIFs play automatically with their original animation
  • Size Control: Make your cursor bigger or smaller with a slider
  • Visual Effects: Add shadows, glow, or pulsing animations to your cursor
  • Live Preview: See how your cursor looks before leaving the settings
  • Auto-Save: Your cursor choice is remembered between game sessions

How to Use

Adding Custom Cursors

  1. Find or create a PNG or transparent GIF image you want to use
  2. Copy it to: .minecraft/config/customcursor/cursors/
  3. The mod finds new cursors automatically when you start Minecraft

Changing Your Cursor

  1. Go to OptionsModsCustom CursorConfig
  2. Select your cursor from the dropdown list
  3. Adjust the size and effects as you like
  4. Click Done - your new cursor is active immediately!

Quick Reload

Click the ⟳ Reload button in the settings to scan for new cursor files without restarting the game.

Tips & Tricks

  • Best Size: Cursor images around 32x32 pixels work great, but any size works
  • Transparency: Use transparent backgrounds (PNG/GIF) for the best look
  • Animations: Animated GIFs will loop forever - keep them short and sweet
  • Performance: Very large cursors (200+ pixels) might slow down older computers
  • Multiple Cursors: Name your files clearly so you can find them easily in the list

Known Limitations

  • Cursor hotspot is always the top-left corner of the image
  • Some very large GIFs may take a moment to load the first time
  • The default Minecraft cursor shows in the main menu before you load a world
