Dawn of Stone: Primal Combat
What was built
- Fabric 1.21.1 mod that adds a Paleolithic combat loop with stamina and a lightweight skill progression.
- Five primitive weapons (stone club, stone spear, bone dagger, hand axe, primitive shield) with custom damage/speed attributes and vanilla-flavored inventory icons.
- Skill system covering Strength, Agility, Endurance, Instinct, and Adaptation with persistent world-backed data.
- Stamina gate on melee swings, on-hit slow/weakness effects, and action-bar stamina feedback.
/primalstatschat command to review levels, progress, and stamina.
How it works
- Weapons are registered into the Combat tab and use attribute modifiers to feel heavier or quicker depending on type.
- Attacking consumes stamina scaled by weapon weight; exhausted players get a warning and their swing is canceled.
- XP sources: attacks feed Strength/Agility, kills grant Strength/Instinct/Endurance, and block breaking rewards Endurance/Adaptation. Levels use a gently scaling curve.
- Instinct rolls per hit; success adds a brief Weakness debuff to the target, while heavy weapons always apply a short Slowness.
- Stamina regenerates each server tick (slower while sprinting or swimming). Skill data and stamina are saved via persistent state so progress survives restarts.
Limits and next steps
- Uses text/action-bar feedback only—no custom animations, HUD widgets, or sounds yet.
- Items reuse vanilla textures and have no recipes; crafting hooks can be added later if desired.
- Balance/configuration values (stamina costs, XP gains, regen) are currently hard-coded and would need code edits or a config layer to tweak.

✅ Server validation passed - The mod was tested on a real Minecraft server and loaded successfully.
