What was built
- Added a NeoForge 1.21.1 client-side story mod with the
epsteinmod id. The mod introduces a capture/sell loop for baby villagers, an evil villager broker, private island purchases, and an arrest consequence system.
How it works
- Kidnapper Sack: Right-click a baby villager to consume a sack, remove the villager, and receive a
Captured Baby Villageritem tagged with a random payout value. The item shows its sale value and origin in the tooltip. - Evil Contract: Using an evil contract spawns a persistent “Evil Villager” marked for black-market deals. Interacting with them cancels normal trading and routes to the custom logic.
- Selling babies: While targeting an evil villager with a captured baby item, you are paid its stored emerald value (12–48) and your suspicion rises, creating a growing arrest risk.
- Buying a private island: Pay 48 emeralds (blocks or gems) to the evil villager to generate a floating island nearby, teleport there, set your respawn point, and receive a signed island deed. The island includes basic terrain plus a small starter chest.
- Arrest system: Capturing, selling, and island deals increase suspicion. Each shady action can trigger an arrest: an iron-bar holding cell spawns around you, a guard golem appears, and you get debuffs while suspicion resets.
Notes and limitations
- Island generation happens at a nearby high Y position; it may overwrite anything already in that space.
- Arrest chance scales with suspicion but has randomness; compliance is not guaranteed.
- Trading is intentionally limited to the custom interactions described above; normal villager trading with evil villagers is blocked.
