Farmingtools

Overview

Farmingtools adds 5 simple, hand-held farming devices that act like a small cart you drag behind you while you walk. There are no engines, fuel, or complicated menus — just hold a device in your hand and stroll through your fields. Each device works on a 3x3 patch of ground trailing just behind you.(Varies for some tools, some place in an 3x3 area around you)

Features

• Harvester Device: Automatically breaks fully grown crops in the 3x3 area behind you as you walk. Drops land on the ground just as if you broke the crop yourself, so replanting and fortune-style loot still behave normally.
• Planter Device: Automatically plants seeds from your inventory onto tilled soil (farmland) in the 3x3 area behind you. Seeds are taken from your inventory one at a time, exactly like planting by hand.
• Both devices work with vanilla crops such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroot, as well as most crops from other mods that follow vanilla crop behavior.
• Works in both single-player and on servers.

How to Use

1. Craft or grab a Harvester Device or Planter Device from the Tools creative tab.
2. Hold the device in your main hand or off-hand.
3. Walk slowly through your fields. The 3x3 area trailing just behind you is worked automatically about four times per second.
4. For the Planter, make sure the soil is already tilled (use a hoe) and keep seeds or other plantable crop items somewhere in your inventory.
5. Put the device away to stop working the field.

Tips & Tricks

• Walk in straight rows at a steady pace so the trailing 3x3 grid lines up with your crop rows.
• Carry several stacks of seeds before starting a planting run so the Planter never runs dry.
• You can hold the Harvester in your main hand and the Planter in your off-hand to harvest and replant in a single pass — just remember to hoe the soil again after harvesting.
• Harvested crops drop where they grew, so stroll back over the field afterward to pick everything up.

Known Limitations

• Only crops that use the vanilla crop system are supported; plants like sugar cane, cactus, bamboo, and nether wart are not affected.
• The Planter only places crops on empty farmland — it will not replace existing plants or till the soil for you.
• The devices only work while actively held in a hand, not while sitting in your inventory or hotbar.
