helper mob
Make a mod with a tool that spawns 10 helper mobs. Clicking it again opens a GUI Menu with buttons for Mine, Chop, and Fight. The mobs must obey these...
00—fabricServer1.21.1mod
helper mob
What it does
- Adds a helper wand that summons a squad of 10 iron golem helpers the first time you use it.
- Reusing the wand opens a command menu (chest-style UI) with Mine, Chop, and Fight buttons so you can direct the helpers.
- Helpers follow the owner, teleport back if they drift too far, and display their current order in their nameplate.
How to use
- Give yourself the wand:
/give <player> helpermob:helper_wand. - Right-click while holding it:
- If you have no active helpers, ten are spawned around you.
- If helpers already exist, a menu opens with three options:
- Mine: helpers seek nearby pickaxe-mineable blocks and break them, dropping loot.
- Chop: helpers target nearby log blocks and chop them.
- Fight: helpers prioritize nearby hostile mobs and attack them.
- If all helpers are lost or killed, using the wand again will summon a fresh squad.
Implementation notes
- Helpers are regular iron golems driven by server-side logic; no client mod is required beyond the standard resource pack.
- Mining/Chopping searches within roughly six blocks of the owner, breaking the first valid target found and then retargeting.
- Fight mode looks for nearby hostile mobs and uses golem AI to engage them; other modes clear combat targets so they focus on tasks.
- The wand uses a blaze-rod look (vanilla texture) and cannot be stacked (max stack size 1).
Limitations and future ideas
- Helpers only search a short radius; distant blocks or mobs must be brought closer.
- Modes are global per owner; individual helper assignments are not supported.
- Target selection is intentionally simple and favors the first valid block found; prioritization or filters (ore-only, tree detection by species, etc.) could be added later.
