Nexus RPG (Server-Only)

Server-focused combat overhaul for NeoForge 1.21.1. No custom registries or client assets required—vanilla clients can join and experience the new combat rules.

Combat System

  • Weapon archetypes with unique pacing/visuals: blade, cleaver, spear, hammer, dagger, bulwark, hunter (bows), plus unarmed fallback. Archetypes auto-detect from vanilla items, or you can tag an item manually.
  • Combo momentum and crits: successive hits within the archetype window raise damage; agility boosts crit rate, archetype crit bonuses apply, and particles mark the impact.
  • Mystic procs apply slow/weakness; veteran ranks grant lifesteal; brutality and mastery levels scale damage; guard ranks cut incoming damage and raise stability.
  • Armor sigils (vanguard/warden/assassin/elemental) socket into vanilla armor with tags and stack small mitigation or thorns-style retaliation.
  • Kills and damage grant Nexus XP and weapon mastery, stored per-player. Level-ups award skill points automatically.

Skill Tree

  • Nodes: Brutality (damage/cleave), Guard (mitigation), Agility (crit/cooldown), Mystic (elemental control), Veteran (sustain).
  • Skill points accrue on level-up; respec refunds spent points.
  • Progress persists via player persistent data and is copied on respawn.

Commands (server)

  • /nexusrpg stats [player] – show levels/skills.
  • /nexusrpg skill spend <node> <points> and /nexusrpg skill respec – allocate/refund points.
  • /nexusrpg archetype set <type> / clear – bind or clear an archetype tag on the held item; defaults apply by item type if unset.
  • /nexusrpg sigil set <type> / clear – socket/clear armor sigils on the held armor piece.
  • /nexusrpg board – open a read-only skill board chest UI.
  • /nexusrpg xp <player> <amount> – admin-only XP grant.

Notes & Limitations

  • Designed strictly for dedicated servers (mod annotated with Dist.DEDICATED_SERVER); no client packages or registries are used.
  • Uses vanilla particles/sounds for “animations”; no custom models or textures.
  • Item/armor tagging relies on custom data components; keep items intact when copying to preserve tags.

Server Validation

Server validation passed - The mod was tested on a real Minecraft server and loaded successfully.
