RacgoonsRods
Overview
RacgoonsRods brings a medieval social hierarchy to your Minecraft server! This plugin creates three distinct roles—Small Folk, Army, and Nobles—that change how players interact with the world, from combat to crafting.
Features
- Three Unique Roles: Small Folk (commoners), Army (Knights & Archers), and Nobles
- Role-Based Combat: Knights can only use melee weapons, Archers can only use ranged weapons, and Small Folk cannot attack at all
- Armor Restrictions: Archers cannot craft heavy armor, while Small Folk cannot craft any armor or weapons
- Sprint Control: Small Folk cannot sprint—only those in the Army or Noble roles can
- Hiring System: Nobles and ops can use a special Pink Shulker to hire nearby players as Knights using gold blocks
How to Use
For Server Operators
Assigning Roles
Use the /role command to give players their role:
/role <player> <role> [subrole]
Examples:
/role Steve smallfolk- Makes Steve a commoner/role Alex army knight- Makes Alex a melee knight/role Alex army archer- Makes Alex a ranged archer/role Notch noble- Makes Notch a noble
Hiring Players
- Rename a Shulker Shell to "Pink Shulker" (must contain both words)
- Hold it in your hand
- Right-click in the air to hire all nearby players within 10 blocks
- Right-click a specific player to hire just them
- Each hire costs 1 gold block from your inventory
For Players
- Check your role anytime by typing
/rolewith no arguments - Your role determines what you can craft, what weapons you can use, and whether you can sprint
- Listen for chat messages telling you when you've been hired!
Tips & Tricks
- Work together! Small Folk should stay near Army members for protection
- Nobles should stock up on gold blocks if they plan to build a large army
- Knights excel in close combat, while Archers should keep their distance
- The hiring system only affects players who aren't already Nobles
Known Limitations
- Role data is stored in memory and will reset if the server restarts (persistent storage planned for future updates)
