SuperPowers mod

  • Added a selectable superpower kit with client HUD and keybind support (default: G to toggle selection overlay, mouse wheel to cycle while choosing, R to activate the highlighted ability; all keybinds are rebindable in Controls > Key Binds under "superpowers").
  • Abilities sync from the server to each player. Default abilities: Symbiote bond and both Gravity Control modes. Commands grant the remaining sets:
    • /powertime give <player> or /powertime remove <player> toggles Time Stop, Fast Speed, and Slow Mo.
    • /powercancel set <player> or /powercancel remove <player> toggles Power Cancel, Gamble, and Immunity.
  • Ability behaviors (all use cooldown tracking and server-side enforcement):
    • Time Stop: freezes mobs/players within 4 blocks with heavy slowness/fatigue for 15s; 3m cooldown.
    • Fast Speed: strong Speed + Haste for short bursts.
    • Slow Mo: Slowness on the ground or Slow Falling in the air to control movement.
    • Power Cancel: strips positive effects and applies weakness/slowness to nearby targets in a 5-block radius for 30s; 3m cooldown.
    • Gamble: 50/50 roll for strong buffs or harsh debuffs; effects bypass immunity protection.
    • Immunity: temporary resistance/absorption/fire resistance while harmful effects are scrubbed each tick; cooldown applied.
    • Symbiote: bonds to the nearest non-player mob within 8 blocks, drains it over time, and grants Strength/Speed until the host dies, then inflicts a random withdrawal debuff.
    • Gravity Control: Heavy mode slows/weakens and drains nearby foes (and the user’s hunger) for 30s; Light mode grants the user jump/slow-fall and levitates nearby entities. Gravity abilities share the same 5m cooldown per mode.
  • Gameplay details: cooldowns persist per-player, data saves in world persistent storage, and ability lists are re-sent on join or after command changes. While the selection overlay is open, scroll input is intercepted for cycling so hotbar scrolling is not affected.

Notes & limitations

  • Time Stop relies on extreme slowness/mining fatigue rather than a full entity freeze.
  • Immunity removes harmful status effects each tick but does not block every possible external effect source; gamble effects remain even during immunity.
  • Symbiote picks the closest non-player mob; duration scales with the host’s health and ends early if the host dies or is too weak.
  • Gravity and cancel abilities use potion effects to represent suppression; they do not prevent other mods’ abilities beyond status impacts.

Server Validation

Server validation passed - The mod was tested on a real Minecraft server and loaded successfully.
