The Random Event Mod

Overview

The Random Event Mod unleashes unpredictable catastrophic events into your Minecraft world! From devastating floods to raging sandstorms, you'll need to complete special tasks to stop these disasters before they consume everything. It's a thrilling challenge that keeps you on your toes!

Features

  • Random Catastrophic Events - Experience floods, sandstorms, meteor showers, darkness, and lava rain
  • Task-Based Challenges - Complete objectives like collecting items or finding shelter to stop events
  • On-Screen HUD Display - See event details, task progress, and time remaining right on your screen
  • Varied Difficulty - Events last different lengths and require different strategies to overcome
  • Immersive Warnings - Get clear notifications when disasters strike so you can react quickly

How to Use

  1. Install the mod - Drop the JAR file into your mods folder
  2. Launch Minecraft - Start a world and play normally
  3. Wait for an event - Random events will trigger every 3-7 minutes of gameplay
  4. Read the HUD - When an event starts, check the center of your screen for:
    • Event name and description
    • Your current task
    • Progress bar showing task completion
    • Time remaining before the event ends
  5. Complete the task - Do what the task asks (collect items, find shelter, etc.)
  6. Stop the event - Once you complete the task, the event ends and you're safe!

Tips & Tricks

  • Plan ahead - Keep sponges in your inventory for floods and know where caves are for sandstorms
  • Work fast - You have limited time, so move quickly when an event starts
  • Multiple events - Events can happen back-to-back, so stay alert!
  • Difficulty scales - The longer you survive, the more intense events become

Known Limitations

  • Events are client-side only (single-player or your view in multiplayer)
  • Some event types (meteor shower, darkness, lava rain) use placeholder mechanics
  • Events don't affect the actual world permanently—they're visual/gameplay challenges
