Overview

UsefulOres is a client-side utility mod that lets you highlight specific blocks in the Minecraft world. Perfect for finding ores, dungeons, or any blocks you want to keep track of while mining or exploring caves.

How to Use

Opening the Menu

Press J (default key) to open the UsefulOres menu while in-game.

Selecting Blocks

1. Use the search bar to filter blocks by name
2. Scroll through the available blocks list on the left
3. Click any block to add it to your selected blocks
4. Selected blocks appear in the right panel with their assigned colors

Managing Selected Blocks

• Change Color: Click the colored box next to a block to cycle through preset colors
• Remove Block: Click the red X button next to any selected block
• Clear All: Click the Clear All button to remove all blocks at once

Settings

• ON/OFF Toggle: Master switch at the top right - disables all highlights but keeps the menu working
• Tracers: Toggle lines from your feet to highlighted blocks
• Distance: Slider to set how many chunks to search (affects performance)
• Opacity: Slider to control how transparent the highlights look

Tips & Tricks

• Lower the distance setting if you experience lag - scanning fewer chunks is faster
• Use different colors for different block types to tell them apart at a glance
• The mod works on multiplayer servers since it's entirely client-side
• Combine with OptiFine or Sodium for even better performance

Known Limitations

• This mod only affects your client and does not change server state
• Very large render distance settings can reduce FPS on low-end hardware
