Overview

Better Chat is a simple but super useful client-side mod that remembers what you were typing in chat even after you close it. No more losing your messages when you accidentally hit escape or need to quickly look around!

Features

• Auto-save chat input: Anything you type gets saved automatically when you close the chat
• Auto-restore on reopen: Your message appears right where you left it when you open chat again
• Works across sessions: Your text persists until you send it or clear it manually
• Zero configuration: Just install and it works immediately

How to Use

1. Open chat with T (or your custom chat key)
2. Type your message as usual
3. Close chat with Escape or by pressing T again - your text is saved automatically
4. Reopen chat anytime - your message will be right there waiting for you
5. Send your message with Enter or clear it with Escape when you're done

• Perfect for long messages or commands you need to reference something for
• Use it when you need to quickly check your surroundings without losing your train of thought
• Great for complex commands that take time to type

Known Limitations

• Saved text is cleared when you send a message or restart your game
• Only works with the vanilla chat screen
