Entity Distance Hider
- Client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that pauses ticking for mobs below the player until they enter the camera's view. Drop the JAR in your Fabric client's
modsfolder to use. - Uses a mixin on the client world tick to skip updates for mobs whose center is below your eye level and outside your current field of view; ticking resumes as soon as you look at them.
- Player mounts and passengers are ignored so riding stays smooth; only mobs are affected, leaving players and projectiles untouched.
- Intended to reduce client CPU/GPU workload when many mobs are beneath you. Server behavior is unchanged.
- Current limitations: visibility is based on your view cone (not line-of-sight through blocks), and freezing only applies to mobs below you. Future improvements could add configurable angles/heights or a toggle keybinding.
