- Prevents players from damaging Obsidian unless a pickaxe is held in either hand; punch or non-pickaxe swings are fully blocked, so no cracking or progress starts.
- Allows normal mining when a pickaxe is held; protection applies on both client and server so the check holds in multiplayer.
- Sends an action bar warning (“You need a pickaxe to damage Obsidian.”) when blocked, keeping chat clean.
- Applies only to standard Obsidian blocks; Crying Obsidian and other blocks remain unchanged.
- No gameplay commands or configuration are required—drop the mod in the mods folder on both client and server for consistent behavior.
