Witherstorm core

Wither Storm Core is a server-side Fabric mod for 1.20.1 that grants players a Wither Storm-inspired power item.

What it adds

• New item: Wither Storm Core (uses the Nether Star look). Right-click to awaken the power.
• Empowerment: strength, resistance, regeneration, haste, speed, and fire resistance for five minutes, plus swirling “tentacle” soul/portal particles behind you.
• Army: up to four enhanced Wither Skeleton minions spawn to guard you. They follow you, teleport back if far, and attack your chosen target.
• Control: hit or right-click a living entity while holding the core to focus the army on that target. Use /witherstormcore status to check duration or /witherstormcore calm to dismiss early.

How to get it

• Any player can run /witherstormcore to receive a core. Ops can also grant it with /witherstormcore give <targets>.

Usage notes

• Using the core refreshes the empowerment timer and respawns fallen minions over time; the item itself is not consumed but has a brief cooldown.
• Minions are temporary and vanish when the empowerment expires or when calmed.
• Visuals use vanilla particles and models, so no client resource pack is required; the item reuses the Nether Star appearance.

Known limitations / ideas

• Minions rely on vanilla AI; they stay near you but won’t use ranged attacks or custom behaviors beyond the focus command.
• Tentacles are particle-based only—no custom models or animations beyond vanilla visuals.
