Werewolf Mod Notes

What was built

  • Added a server-side werewolf form tied to a Werewolf Tooth item; right-clicking the tooth bonds you to the moon and triggers an immediate transformation whenever it is night (reverts at daybreak).
  • Implemented a kill-based progression from level 1 to 20; kills while in werewolf form count, with 15 kills needed for levels 1–2/2–3 and +15 every two levels afterward. Each level grants one unspent skill point.
  • Introduced skill paths unlocked by progression: Offense (level 1), Defense (level 5), and Mobility (level 10). Spend points with /werewolf spend <offense|defense|mobility> and view progress with /werewolf stats. Admins can set levels with /werewolf setlevel <player> <level>. /werewolf tooth gives the bonding item.
  • Werewolf buffs: baseline claws and night vision; Offense boosts Strength, Defense adds Resistance (and Regeneration at 3+ points), Mobility adds Speed and Jump Boost. Effects apply only while in wolf form.

Notes and limitations

  • Progress counts only when you are in werewolf form; daytime or human-form kills do not advance levels.
  • There is no built-in respec; adjust levels via an admin if points need to be reset.
  • The tooth is only obtainable via commands; it does not drop naturally.

Ideas for future improvements

  • Add a respec ritual or consumable, and natural ways to earn or craft the tooth.
  • Provide sound/particle cues for leveling and form changes, plus a client HUD for tracking progress.

Server Validation

Server validation passed - The mod was tested on a real Minecraft server and loaded successfully.
