Alliance Rings

Alliance Rings adds a silver Alliance Ring item that works as a lightweight server assistant. Craft it with iron nuggets, quartz, and an amethyst shard to get the ring with its gray “G” face. Right-clicking the ring gently pings the assistant with quick usage hints.

What you can do

• Commands: /alliance or /alliancerings for help; /alliance status repeats the ring hint.
• Math: /alliance math <expression> evaluates basic expressions with +, -, *, /, ^, and parentheses (e.g., /alliance math 2*(3+4)).
• Music: /alliance music <track> plays a vanilla disc to nearby players. Available tracks: cat, otherside, pigstep, stal, ward.

Implementation notes

• The ring item is registered as alliancerings:alliance_ring with a custom texture and item model.
• Command handling and math parsing are server-side; errors are reported inline rather than throwing.
• Music cues use the server world to broadcast the chosen disc at record volume.

Limitations & tips

• The math helper is limited to basic arithmetic and exponentiation; no functions or variables are supported.
• Music uses existing vanilla disc sounds; there is no playlist queue or stop command.
• Players need the mod’s assets to see the custom ring visuals. An optional resource pack or client mod distribution may be required for clients.***
