Control Test - Controller Support Mod
Overview
Control Test adds full gamepad support to Minecraft, inspired by the classic console editions. It automatically detects your controller and provides a simplified crafting menu designed for gamepads - no more fumbling with the 3x3 crafting grid!
Features
- Automatic Controller Detection - Plug in any gamepad and it works instantly
- Console-Style Crafting Menu - Browse and craft items with simple navigation instead of dragging items around a grid
- Recipe Categories - Tools, Combat, Building, Food, Redstone, and more organized like console editions
- Camera Control - Use the right stick to look around smoothly
- Movement Support - Left stick controls walking and strafing
- Multiple Controller Support - Works with up to 4 connected controllers
How to Use
- Connect your controller before or during gameplay - it's detected automatically
- Press J to open the simplified crafting menu
- Navigate recipes using:
- D-Pad or Left Stick: Move up/down through recipes
- LB/RB or D-Pad Left/Right: Switch categories
- A Button: Craft selected item
- B Button: Close menu
- Press K to toggle controller mode on/off
- Use right stick to look around while playing
- Use left stick to move your character
Tips & Tricks
- Recipes are sorted by what materials you already have - craftable ones appear first!
- The preview panel shows exactly what ingredients you need
- "Can Craft!" indicator tells you if you have all materials
- Categories help you find what you need faster without scrolling through everything
Known Limitations
- Crafting must still be done near a crafting table for table recipes
- This mod provides input handling and a simplified menu - some advanced crafting (like shift-clicking) works best with keyboard/mouse
- Controller vibration/rumble is not currently supported
