Ore Automation Mod

Overview

Ore Automation adds a brand new way to gather ores by battling living ore creatures! Explore underground dungeons and Nether vaults to find miniature ore mobs that drop ore blocks when defeated.

Features

  • 8 Unique Ore Mobs: Each ore type has its own living creature
    • Overworld: Coal, Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis, Diamond, and Emerald
    • Nether: Ancient Debris
  • Defensive Creatures: They won't attack first, but hit them and they defend themselves!
  • Special Structures: Discover large underground dungeons and buried Nether vaults
  • Guaranteed Loot: Each mob drops 1-3 of their ore block when defeated
  • Size Matters: Rare ores like Diamond and Ancient Debris are bigger and tougher
  • Spawn Eggs: Available in Creative mode to spawn any ore mob instantly

How to Use

Finding the Structures

Overworld Dungeons:

  • Look for large underground structures while mining (depth -48 to y-level 16)
  • About as common as villages
  • Lit by wall lanterns - look for the glow!

Nether Vaults:

  • Buried deep in the Netherrack (y-level 10 to 100)
  • Slightly rarer than Overworld dungeons
  • Home to Ancient Debris mobs

Battling the Mobs

  1. Be Careful: These mobs are defensive - they only fight back if you hit them first
  2. Bring Gear: They fight like zombies with 10-25 health depending on the ore type
  3. Collect Loot: Each mob drops 1-3 ore blocks of their type

Creative Mode

Open your inventory and look in the Spawn Eggs tab. You'll find eggs for all 8 ore mob types!

Tips & Tricks

  • Dungeon chests contain bonus loot including a map to the nearest village
  • Diamond and Ancient Debris mobs are the biggest and toughest - come prepared!
  • The mobs make clinking stone sounds, so listen carefully while exploring
  • Ancient Debris mobs are fire immune (they live in the Nether after all!)

Known Limitations

  • Structure NBT templates need to be created separately for custom dungeon layouts
  • Looting enchantment doesn't currently affect drop amounts
