Radar Mod
Overview
The Radar mod adds a special block that detects players from up to 7000 blocks away and displays their distance using redstone lamps. It's perfect for building security systems, player trackers, or just cool visual displays on your server.
Features
- Long-Range Detection: Detects players within a massive 7000 block radius
- Visual Distance Display: Redstone lamps light up in rings based on how far away the nearest player is
- False Signal Protection: Won't trigger for players within 10 blocks (prevents self-detection)
- 5 Distance Rings: Lamps display 5 different distance ranges from closest to farthest
How to Use
-
Place the Radar Block: The radar block looks like a diamond block and can be obtained via commands or creative mode
-
Set Up Redstone Lamps: Place redstone lamps anywhere within 5 blocks of the radar block. These will light up based on player proximity
-
Watch It Work:
- When a player enters detection range (10-7000 blocks away), the lamps will light up
- Different rings of lamps activate based on distance:
- Inner ring = closest players
- Outer ring = farthest players
- If no players are detected beyond 10 blocks, all lamps turn off
-
Command: Use
/radarto confirm the mod is installed
Tips & Tricks
- Place lamps in a circle around the radar for the best visual effect
- Combine with other redstone components to create automatic defenses or alerts
- The radar updates every second, so movement is tracked in real-time
- Works great for PvP arenas, base security, or mini-games
Known Limitations
- Requires the chunk containing the radar to be loaded to function
- Only detects players, not other entities
- Minimum 10 block detection range prevents the radar from detecting its owner standing right next to it
