The Expansion
Added Content
- New overworld ores: zinc (veins up to 7 between Y -32 and 64), aluminum (up to 8 between Y -16 and 80), and tin (up to 9 between Y 0 and 96). They drop raw chunks unless mined with Silk Touch.
- Metallurgy loop: smelt or blast raw or ore blocks into zinc, aluminum, or tin ingots; all recipes award experience.
- Armor sets: stone (cobblestone-based starter), copper (uses copper ingots), and amethyst (rarity bumped, tougher than diamond). Vanilla armor textures are reused for visuals.
- Tool tiers: copper and amethyst swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes with tuned durability/speed/attack stats and proper attribute components.
Gameplay & Access
- Ores naturally generate in all overworld biomes; block drops respect Silk Touch and Fortune. All ores require an iron-tier pick or better.
- Crafting follows vanilla patterns: armor uses the standard helmet/chestplate/leggings/boots layouts; tools use the usual stick patterns with the new materials.
- Items and blocks appear in the appropriate creative tabs (Ingredients, Combat, Tools, Natural Blocks).
Implementation Notes
- Armor materials are registered in the armor material registry with custom durability multipliers and repair ingredients; armor durability is set per piece using vanilla base damage scaling.
- Tool materials implement the new 1.21 tool component/attribute system (attribute modifiers attached via data components; inverse mining tags set for mining level behavior).
- Item and block models reference existing vanilla textures to avoid missing assets on clients; no custom textures are required.
