Smart Sneak

A Minecraft Fabric mod that enhances the shift key behavior.

Overview

Smart Sneak automatically converts a long hold of the shift key into toggle sneak mode after a configurable duration. This gives you the best of both worlds - normal sneak mechanics when you need them, and toggle sneak when you're holding shift for too long.

Features

• Automatic Toggle Detection: Hold shift for the configured duration (default 2 seconds) to automatically enter toggle sneak mode
• Tap to Exit: While in toggle mode, tap shift once to return to normal sneak mode
• Configurable Timer: Adjust the hold duration from 1 to 5 seconds in 0.1 second increments
• Mod Menu Integration: Access settings directly from the Mod Menu

How to Use

1. Normal Mode: Hold shift briefly and release - normal sneak behavior
2. Enter Toggle: Hold shift for the configured duration (e.g., 2.3 seconds) - you'll automatically enter toggle sneak
3. Exit Toggle: Tap shift once while in toggle mode to return to normal sneak mode
4. Adjust Settings: Open Mod Menu and click on Smart Sneak to configure the timer

Tips & Tricks

• Default threshold is 2.0 seconds - adjust lower for faster toggle or higher for more control
• The setting persists between game sessions
• Works in singleplayer and multiplayer (client-side only)

Known Limitations

• Only works with left shift key
• Client-side only - won't affect other players
• May conflict with other mods that modify sneak behavior
