What this mod adds

  • Introduces the Bomb Phantom, a hostile flying mob with glowing red eyes that keeps the vanilla phantom look.
  • The Bomb Phantom fires small fireballs at player targets from range, then swoops with primed TNT that drops toward the ground while it dives.
  • A Bomb Phantom Spawn Egg is available in the creative spawn egg tab for easy testing. The mob drops phantom membranes and gunpowder when defeated.

How it works

  • The mob reuses phantom flight AI, adding server-side logic to shoot fireballs when it can see a player within medium range. Cooldowns prevent rapid spam.
  • While diving toward a target, it periodically spawns primed TNT with a short, randomized fuse, letting the bombs fall along its charge path.
  • Rendering reuses the vanilla phantom model with a custom red-eye glow layer to make the variant visually distinct without changing the base texture.

Notes and limitations

  • There is no natural spawn rule; use the spawn egg or commands to summon it.
  • TNT bombs behave like standard primed TNT and will damage blocks and entities where they land.
  • The mod is marked client-side; run it in singleplayer or with clients that also load it when hosting/in LAN sessions. Dedicated servers are not targeted.
