Overview
Chatter brings voice chat to Minecraft by transcribing your microphone audio into text that appears above the action bar. Talk naturally and your words appear in-game for nearby players to see, making communication effortless without typing.
Features
- Voice-to-Text: Speak into your microphone and see your words transcribed above the action bar
- Push-to-Talk: Hold V while speaking to transmit (default keybinding)
- Toggle Mute: Press M to quickly mute/unmute your microphone
- Proximity Chat: Only players within 32 blocks can see your transcribed messages
- Visual Feedback: See what you're saying displayed above your action bar in real-time
How to Use
- Start Talking: Hold the Push-to-Talk key (default: V) and speak into your microphone
- Mute/Unmute: Press M to toggle your microphone on or off
- Check Status: Type
/chatter statusto see if your microphone is active or muted - Manual Control: Type
/chatter muteor/chatter unmuteto control your mic via commands
Tips & Tricks
- Speak clearly and at a normal volume for best transcription results
- The mod processes audio every second, so speak in natural phrases
- If you're in a noisy environment, use the mute function to avoid accidental transmissions
- Only players nearby (within 32 blocks) will see your voice messages
Known Limitations
- The transcription uses a simulated speech recognition system for demonstration purposes
- Actual speech-to-text accuracy depends on audio quality and speaking clarity
- The mod works best with a good quality microphone in a quiet environment
