How Core TD Works

Core TD turns Minecraft into a siege survival mode where players must defend a single Core block from increasingly powerful zombie hordes. The entire mod revolves around preparing for and surviving these periodic attacks.

Starting the Apocalypse To begin the mod’s progression, an operator runs: /startzombietd which starts the 7 in-game day preparation period.

During this time players must: gather resources build defenses place the Core block with /placecore If a Core is not placed before the countdown ends, all players receive Wither and Hunger effects until one is placed.

The Core

The Core is the heart of your base. It functions as: the target for all hordes the center of the repair zone the upgrade interface for the defense system Players can open the Core interface by right-clicking the Core block. The Core begins with 150 health and takes damage whenever mobs reach it. If the Core survives the night, it fully restores its health and repairs nearby structures.

Horde Nights Every 7 in-game days, a horde night begins automatically. Each horde night consists of three escalating waves of enemies. Enemies spawn around the Core and move toward it using custom pathfinding. Each wave uses a budget system that determines how many mobs spawn. As the apocalypse progresses, the budget increases, making later hordes much larger.

Enemy Types

Core TD introduces several zombie variants that change how sieges behave.

Breaker Zombies Breaker zombies slowly destroy blocks that block their path to the Core. Walls can slow them down but cannot stop them forever.

Tank Zombies

Tank zombies have very high health and knockback resistance. They move slower but are extremely difficult to kill.

Runner Zombies Runner zombies move significantly faster than normal zombies and can slip through defensive gaps.

Horde Caller A rare elite zombie that periodically summons additional zombies nearby. If left alive, it can dramatically increase the size of the horde.

Siege Creepers Special creepers target defensive structures instead of players.

They detonate against walls to create openings for other mobs. To give players time to react, these creepers spawn with Slowness I.

Terrible Nights Each horde night has a 5% chance to become a Terrible Night. When this occurs: the wave budget doubles more creepers spawn the horde becomes significantly more dangerous A warning message appears when a Terrible Night begins.

Base Repair System When a horde night ends successfully, the Core restores the surrounding area. The mod records a snapshot of the area around the Core before the siege begins. After the battle, that area is restored to its previous state.

This means: damage caused by mobs is repaired emergency structures built during the battle disappear

Core Upgrades

Players can upgrade the Core using the Core interface. Upgrades improve defensive capabilities such as: increasing Core health expanding the repair zone Upgrades require diamonds and become more expensive each level.

This upgrade requires:

a Nether Star

an Ender Dragon Head

Activating it triggers the final siege event. The Final Siege

The final siege is the largest horde the world will ever spawn. It includes:

the highest wave budget massive zombie numbers a powerful boss zombie

Defeating this boss and surviving the siege ends the apocalypse permanently.

Winning the Mod

If players survive the final siege and defeat the boss zombie, the hordes stop forever. The undead fall silent, and the world returns to peace. Until then, the hordes will continue growing stronger every cycle.
