BetterCats Overview
- Cats stay calm near players (flee goal removed) but will automatically hunt nearby creepers and endermen within ~16 blocks. Damage is intentionally low: 0.5 vs creepers and 0.2 vs endermen. Creepers and endermen cannot damage cats at all.
- Applies to both tamed and untamed cats; other mobs are unaffected. Behavior is attached to existing cats on load and to new cats as they appear.
Cat Armor
- New item: Cat Armor (uses the leather horse armor model). Crafting recipe:

where L=Leather, I=Iron Ingot, S=String. Appears under equipment recipes. - Equip by right-clicking a cat with the armor in hand/off-hand. Consumed in survival; drops from the cat on death.
- Effects: +3 hearts max health bonus and ~40% damage reduction for the armored cat.
Gameplay Notes
- Cats keep awareness enabled so they will still move/attack normally while staying calm around players.
- Goal scheduling scans for targets roughly once per second to keep performance light.
