Silem's Dino Mounts lets you bait, tame, and ride a dinosaur companion. Dropping or using meat draws the dino to the location; repeated feeding increases trust until it bonds with you. Once tamed it shadows your movement, rushes toward targets you attack, and can be mounted by right-clicking it (press F to dismount on the client).
Key details:
- A fresh dinosaur NPC is spawned near the first meat drop if no nearby companion exists; later drops reuse the closest one.
- Feeding progress is driven by meat quantity; once the threshold is reached the dino becomes bound to the feeder and only that player can command or mount it.
- A lightweight scheduler nudges the dinosaur toward food, owner, or your current target, keeping it close without requiring extra commands.
- Interaction hooks come from player ready/disconnect and interact events, with meat identified by item IDs containing “meat”.
Notes and limitations:
- Combat assistance is movement-focused; damage rules are left to the base game, so the companion simply closes distance to your target.
- Mounting aligns you to the dinosaur and marks it as your mount; visuals and controls depend on the client’s mounting behavior.
- Pathing is simplified to short teleports/steps toward goals, which keeps behavior predictable but may ignore obstacles.
